Infertility is the diagnosis made after failure to conceive a whole year of not using birth control. However, in cases where the patient is of more than 35 years of age, the duration is reduced by half, to six months. This is because as years pass, the body’s fertility decreases drastically, along with one’s chances of becoming pregnant. Fertility issues in men and women are usually caused due to endometriosis, ovulation problems, low sperm motility or genetic disorders.
With advancements in medicine and technology, these problems are now easily treatable. Treatments like IVF and ICSI, along with other assisted reproductive technologies are now gaining steam and have made the dreams of having children a reality for many.
